What a Difference a Week Makes!

Well, after slogging through the snow last week, I was delighted to find that there was hardly any snow on the trail up to the ski hut this week. We only had two hikers show up (possibly due to the 7:30AM start, possibly due to the possibility of snow on the trail) and my co-leader showed up at 7:50AM, thinking she was early for the 8AM hike, when she was the one who scheduled it so early!

Oh, well, we still had a great time, and it was a beautiful day. The sky was particularly blue once we'd driven above about the heavy clouds at about 4,000 feet, and it looked like the whole world was nothing but mountains poking up above the clouds. We couldn't see a lick of LA.

All in all, it was a great way to spend the morning.
