Verdugo Peak with the Local Hikes folks

Angeles Crest hightway has been closed due to the record-breaking storms we've been having lately. That meant that the local hikes folks couldn't get up to Vetter for our scheduled hike. The concensus was to fall back and do a hike in the Verdugos from La Tuna Canyon.

This was a fine hike, and a few of us even managed to snag a LPC peak, Verdugo Peak. I have to say, though, that the Verdugo Mountains mostly remind me of the mountains I used to hike up in the Bay Area. They are smooth and rounded and fairly low, and not all that exciting.

C'est la vie. I was happy to get out there and hike after huddling inside for too many days, and the water was running very high, so we saw lots and lots of cool waterfalls. Plus there were any number of mudslides. And did I meantion that it was nice to get out there and hike again?
