Waterman, Tahquitz, Red Tahquitz, and Cucamonga
It's been a quiet few months for hiking. I managed to nab Cucamonga Peak a couple months ago, but then I've just been bopping around on Mt. Baldy. Last weekend I went on an HPS hike up Tahquitz and Red Tahquitz. This weekend I went back up Williamson for an HPS pot-luck.
Cucamonga was a bit of a slog, but was never really in doubt. I had to go about 12 miles, with some fairly steep sections, but as long as I kept my own pace, it wasn't too bad. And coming down, I was flying.
I tried Tahquitz and Red Tahquitz on one of the hottest weekends of the year, with a huge fire in the desert just 20 or so miles north. We started out at 6,000' or so, which helped with the heat. The pace was a little high for me, but I managed to stick with it. I definitely need to spend some more time in the gym to get a bit more fitness.
Williamson was pretty easy, at a slow pace, plus we didn't meet 'til 9:30AM. That's my kinda schedule. This was just a quick hike, and yet I was still pretty tired. Oh, well.
